Slowly, Gently

Food is probably just a microcosm of this bigger wok we call life. You can't make instant food and expect it to be the most nutritious piece of gourmet morsel there is on earth. Good things take a lot of work and sacrifice. It's the same with life. Read more about this little piece of wisdom I was reminded of one lunch with my daughter.

Slowly. Gently.

  1. Cant say its gourmet when you seal it in a plastic container and hit the cook button.
Here is the extreme situation of what a gourmet food should taste like in my chef-instructor's view- way back when I was still studying, she would say, "you cook a bolognese for 6 hours and compare it to 4 hours of cooking, you'll taste the difference." well, until now, I still could not possibly know the difference of what she was saying. 6 hours in the making just for a house tomato sauce and ground meat is just ridiculous! sayang pa sa gas. oh but I get her point though.
    No pain no gain.
That's why I couldn't agree more. Life indeed!

  2. Haha! The gas element is also one of the things that are bothering me so what I do when I need something to be stewed for hours, I let it stew for 30minutes, leave it for an hour, stew it again for 30 minutes, and so on. And yes, microwave cooking is not necessarily my friend unless I need to reheat something. :-D
